[info]lishd: Outsiders don't understand how a little piece of metal can change someone's entire self-image, & they don't understand how appearance is so important, & yet means nothing at all.

About me: I am many, many things. I am complicated, dramatic, liberal, intense, insecure, honest, confused, determined, and oh so many more things that I could never ever adequately describe them to you.

I have two cats. I have a gorgeous black tabby Maine Coon mix named Nefertem. I also have a beautiful flame point Siamese mix, with the MOST intense blue eyes I have ever seen, named Ib. They are my babies, my family, my beloved, and the worst thing that could ever happen to me would be to lose them.

I follow a non-mainstream religion called Kemetic Orthodox, however I still often identify as agnostic. I joined KO officially on January 21, 2009. At that time, I took my vows and became Shemsu- "one who follows." I was divined a child of Wepwawet-Yinepu and Set, and beloved of Khonsu, Heru-wer, and Bast. I then became named on January 29, 2009- my name within Kemetic Orthodox, the name I am called by my brothers- and sisters-in-faith is Senusenu, which means "companion of two." I have struggled with faith all of my life, and I will not be the one to claim that I know all of the facts. I'm a human with no more knowledge than anyone else, I simply choose what feels the most comfortable and uplifting for myself. Faith is not easy for one who was agnostic-atheist for a good chunk of their life, so this is a very difficult journey.

I am a computer geek. I build, upgrade, and diagnose my own computer, and I have been doing so since the late 1990s. My latest computer build was completed about a month ago (February 2009), and is comprised of the following:

Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 965 Processor (4 CPUs), ~3.4GHz
Memory: 4096MB RAM
Hard Drive: 2.5 TB Total
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260
Monitor: Acer 22" widescreen/dual screen
Sound Card: SB X-Fi Surround 5.1
Mouse: Logitech USB G3 (MX518) Optical Mouse
Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_rtm.090713-1255)
Motherboard: ASUSM4A79XTD EVO
Computer Case: Coolermaster HAF 922

I am a "late bloomer" to the console game world. I bought a Yobo FC Twin Nintendo/Super Nintendo game deck in early 2008. I followed that up with a slimline PS2 shortly after. I only bought my PS3 in January 2010, and have few games thus far. At any given moment, I have about 5 or 7 games in various states of play between the consoles and my PC. I am a massive Legacy of Kain fan, and even have the Razielim symbol as a tattoo.

My favorite games include: Neverwinter Nights (original campaign and both expantions); Baldur's Gate 1 and 2; X2: The Threat; The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion; Assassin's Creed; Diablo 1 and 2; Dragon Age: Origins. As you can see, I favor RPGs quite a bit! I am, however, a massive n00b that sucks at them all, so I play on easy mode more often than not.

I traded in my 2005 PT Cruiser 5-speed base model for a sweet little 2007 PT Cruiser convertible with the works. She's a gorgeous car that will be getting a chrome treatment when I have funds available, and is the only car that I have been totally in love with. I try not to brag, but I am entirely proud of myself on that one.

I have various mental disorders, including but not limited to: major depression, generalized anxiety disorder, insomnia, and some mild paranoia. I am no longer letting them rule me though, and my life has been much improved since I learned how to cope and take charge.

I also suffer greatly with an as-yet undiagnosed joint disease or disorder, for which I am currently seeing an orthopedist. This condition causes intense chronic pain of my joints, particularly of my knees, but also including hips, ankles, elbows, wrists, and back. Because of this condition, my physical activity is impacted, and I cannot run or lift heavy objects because of the pain I experience while doing so. This of course gives me even more reason to sit in front of my computer all hours of the day and night when I am not working :p

I sell gas, cigarettes, and lotto tickets, but my aspirations are for something much more rewarding, both financially and emotionally- however, I'm a bit stuck so far on how to accomplish those goals!

I have lived in Nottingham, England, and Wisconsin, but am once again settled in Texas. This is not ideal as I would much rather live in the northern or possibly western states, but that is another goal to work on at a later date. Until then, I am making due and getting by.

I enjoy creative writing, role playing, sewing, drawing, listening to music, driving, being out doors, camping, and occasionally you might find me cooking!

This journal is my personal space where I talk about anything and everything, some of which might be found offensive. I am pro-gay, pro-choice, pro-education, pro-animal welfare, and generally anything that promotes quality of life among the entire nation and not just myself. That being said, I can also be extremely selfish and self-centered, and often get tunnel-vision about certain issues.

If you think you can handle all this, I am a pretty open and friendly person most of the time, so drop me a line and say hello.
